smaller off-cuts from window mounts cuttings are useful for labels etc. from a 60cm x 80cm window mount there will be two window centres cut-outs, as 43cm x 64 and as 46cm x 67cm, that may be cropped for 40cm x 50cm window mounts _ and then the window mount centres cut-outs from these may be cropped for 25cm x 30cm window mounts see illustration window mounts cutting plan for mount material size 60cm x 80cm 60cm x 80cm frame-back having cropped A1 as 59.4cm x 79.4cm will require extra strips of mount off-cuts material pasted onto the back of the mount all round as 0.3cm stepped space packing __ within a 0.6cm framing rebate the mounts extra packing strips material will be out of view, covered by the frame face by just about 0.2cm overlapping the mount material all around. for ease of working in practice it is best to have window mounts to exactly suit the picture framing size and to have other window mounts to exactly suit the A1 portfolio size
